Welcome to Mr. Phil George's Grade 7/8 Page

Welcome to Grades 7 & 8! I am very excited to be working with your children. It is my goal to provide a safe and supportive environment in which your child can grow and learn.

My educational philosophy is based on creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can develop the intellectual, emotional and creative ability to express themselves effectively. Engaging students in project based learning is an effective strategy to this end, as it activates prior knowledge, incorporates all curriculum areas, promotes empathy and understanding of local and global issues and relates to each individual’s interconnectedness with our planet. In doing so, I hope to develop and strengthen community bonds and build character. It is important that relevant issues and key concepts currently facing people in their local and global community be regularly explored, as to allow learners to see and appreciate the interconnectedness of what they have learned to the real world.

Communication between home and school will be an important component to your child’s success. Your comments, questions, and ideas are always welcome.
